I'd like to preface this rant with a warning, that I normally over analyze games and try to suggest ways to improve them. Honestly after what I just sat through I think it may be best to just completely start over.
There's no atmosphere, just randomly crashing from one object into the next hoping that eventually, the game will tell you something has happened and allow you to open the next door which inadvertently leads to another very basic jumpscare.
The prebuilt assets within in the game were used effectively, in the future however maybe try to include a larger focus on story and less of a focus on trying to "Gotcha" the player.
Appreciate the feedback! Also appreciate the fact you gave a critical but honest review. It's basically the first one on here lol. I pretty much agree with the criticism and will definitely keep these in mind for the future!
I know how it feels to procrastinate on a project, and then just make something for the sake of making something. I know I have several unfinished series on my channel I can't be bothered with XD But it's good you're putting yourself out there. Best of luck on future endeavors.
I think I may have triggered a scare without seeing what happened when I walked into the kitchen. Maybe that can be looked into?
Thanks for that! Yeah that scare specifically is something I've seen act weird on most playthroughs but I definitely see the problem now thanks to that. Best of luck on your channel as well!
Disclaimer: Contains spoilers: To be honest, it wasn't that bad of a game! It was a pretty cool, short little experience with some usual trashy jumpscares but they were some jumpscares which weren't bad, especially when you opened that door to the bathroom. Thanks for this little experience :) 7/10
Truly a creepy game plus it made me jump a couple of times so props on that. I enjoyed this so much I put it in a video of mine as the first game if it's ok. Good Luck on future projects!
This at times reminds me of the random nightmares that I get, most of the time its not recurring but it hits too close to home. Loved the game and the play through put me on edge.
I got so scared and really enjoyed the game, truly it was incredible but my file got corrupted and I only had the webcam footage. Keep up the good work!
Checked out your game and it was short sweet and to the point! at first I thought maybe there was another game that came before this one because of how it started off but I guess you don't need one considering the title tells you that its just "Another Nightmare" lol Great game though!!
Was a really good game and really fun to play! The setting was great, and loved how the forest background mattered for the game as you go outside towards the end. The atmosphere was great; with the spooky theme in the background and the darkness and spooky mood of the house really complimented each other well and made it extra scary. The scares were really good too; especially the one where you are exiting the room and then the camera turns 180 to show the creature that was there. I absolutely loved how the text told the player that something might be behind them and then there wasn't at first, and then a jump scare right after. This was executed really well and I thought was a superb scare and something that turned up the climax just for that part. Another really good part was that there were a variety of monster that wee scaring the player' most horror games have an issue of not being scary because once the monster is shown, the scariness goes away. But you have gone around that by making multiple monsters albeit with similar jump scares. I think that was done really well as well. Especially the second on which scares the player on the chair; it was photo shopped really well. Another good touch was when the text goes really red and large and tells the player to sleep, my only suggestion is that the speed of the text be reduced a little bit as I was only able to read it while editing the game play. But other than that, it was a great touch! Aside from those the cinematography was done really well, and how you suggested that something might come from the cupboard at the beginning and at the end, there was a scare at the cupboard; it was a full circle and honestly thought it completed the game and made it stand out more and that much better than a lot of other games. My only suggestions would be to add more noises and more small scares or spooky parts. The main flaw with the game I found is that it has a great environment, and due to that, players would want to explore. This slows down the pace of the game and makes it less scary than it is. Maybe add spooky humanoid shadows or something or creepy sounds that go off now and then, that would elevate the scariness of the game a lot more and make it more enthralling and engrossing. Or maybe making the map smaller might help as it would streamline the player into only going to particular areas that have scares or spooks in them. Other than that, my other suggestion would be to make more of a story which the player could divulge into. Maybe talk about things like why there are monster, or why the player is having nightmares, or who are the nightmares, etc. An interesting story would make the game that much better! And yeah, it was a great game and can't wait for more and good luck for the future! (Also, sorry if the message looks weird, I'm writing this elsewhere and copying it into the comments. it's hard to see the writing in the page.)
Thanks for the feedback! The closet text in the beginning + the monster in the closet ending was one of the few things that was actually planned so I'm glad to hear that paid off! Will definitely come back to this as reference for the future
Hi, I played this game on my twitch. I liked the idea of the constant threat of jumpscares since this game had a lot. The models were a bit wonky, but I understand since the weirder the look, the more foreign and creepy the environment. My only recommendation is to possibly make the story flow better and add more build-up between jumpscares. 6/10!
Thanks for the feedback! I agree about the monsters. I'm basically gonna have to learn 3d modeling after seeing what free 3d monster assets have to offer lol. Definitely gonna look into how horror movies/games create build-up since yeah that wasn't something I actually focused much on with this.
I agree lol. I'm not a fan of jumpscares myself, but was curious how it would be making them. Definitely gonna try to use them less in the future. Thanks for checking it out!
Thanks for the feedback! Yeah I basically just plopped that wind sound right outside the windows, despite the windows being closed lol. I'm definitely gonna have a more focus on sound in the future. Good to hear it still gave some atmosphere though!

Pretty much agree with this. The bathroom scare seems to be the most effective from what I've seen which is interesting. Thanks for the feedback!

The title itself kinda implies there was a first game so I don't blame you lol. Thanks for checking it out!
